2008-W Bald Eagle Gold Commemorative

The 2008-W Bald Eagle Gold Commemorative was issued to honor the Bald Eagle's importance as the National Symbol of the United States, the 25th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act of 1973, and the recovery of the Bald Eagle species. The coins were issued in proof and uncirculated versions and carry the "W" mint mark. The mintage for the proof coin was 59,269 and the mintage for the uncirculated coin was 15,009.
